After the successful journey of OnePlus 6, now the company come up with its new Smartphone OnePlus 6T
The ads of OnePlus 6T have been started coming on T.V. In the official teaser video starring Amitabh Bachchan(BigB) who is the company’s brand ambassador in India, references the handset’s in-Screen Sensor.
The OnePlus 6T is a successor of the OnePlus 6, with some advance feature. The OnePlus company has also confirmed some of the features of the smartphone. This smartphone comes with a face unlock and also an in-display fingerprint sensor/scanner. This in-display fingerprint sensor is also called “Screen Unlock”.
“We unlock our phones multiple times a day, and Screen Unlock reduces the number of steps to complete the action, “By adding this feature as an addition to other display unlocking options such as Face Unlock, users will have options to unlock the display in a way that is most efficient for them.” a OnePlus staffer said to CNET.
First time in the history of smartphone that upcoming 6T will not have the headphone jack, confirmed by OnePlus.
The company’s co-founder Carl Pei said to the TechRadar website, “By removing the jack we’ve freed up more space, allowing us to put more new technology into the product.”
The phone comes with an inbuilt Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, and Gyroscope.
Not much else is confirmed during the 15-second teaser video, but we already know that OnePlus 6T will feature latest 845 Snapdragon processor, a bigger battery than its OnePlus 6 and it has no headphone jack.
In an interview with TechRadar, OnePlus founder Carl Pei revealed that the ‘next OnePlus handset’ will do away with the 3.5mm jack in favor of USB-C. He says the “controversial” decision was taken by seeing this stats that almost 60 percent of current OnePlus users are already using wireless headphones.
“We found 60 percent of our community already owned wireless headphones earlier this year – and that was before we launched our Bullets Wireless headphones,” he said. And Pei claims that, by removing the jack, the firm is freeing up more space to put “more new technology” into the product, noting that the 6T will offer a bigger battery than its OnePlus 6 predecessor.
Thankfully, Pei confirmed that OnePlus will feature a 3.5mm to USB-C adapted in the box. And since, the company has let slip that it’ll be launching new Type-C Bullet earphones alongside the OnePlus 6T, which will be priced at £15.99 in the UK.
GizTop, a Chinese e-commerce website linked to the blog GizmoChina, is listing the next-generation OnePlus flagship with a $569 (around 41,000 Indian rupees) price-tag and claims the 6T will start shipping on 16 October.
Of course, we’d advise taking this leak with a hefty pinch of salt.
